people. places. so many. so little time.

you'd reckon that someone who spent all day looking @ puters talking about puters would hate their guts.

but that would be illogical cos they are inanimate objects right? purely illogical. kapitan.

corn. wall. where? oh, there...

so no thanks london and all thanks cornwall.

ouchee. wowee. zoweeeee. is that the sound of a red ass from all the sun bathing we were doing over the weekend? or maybe the response from on-lookers @ the site of the soft pinkish form of the rising moon-bryce emerging from the crystal if not slightly bracing cornish ocean.

thanks to said bryce and shipman for arranging to kidnap the hawke's from their comfy city life existence - first and last stop cornwall (not entirely true. i did see stonehenge. twice. although noone believed me the first time. doubting thomasssssss).

was unbelievably nice. nice house. nice watergate bay. nice beach for running over. nice cliffs for peeking over. nice kitsch holiday towns and rundown motels to be superior over. nice fish'n'chips to gorge ourselves over. won't divulge the price, suffice to say it was worth it.

and to be sharing my 32nd birthday with my chums and my alana @ the beach in sunny englund...(who wants to do a 33.33333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333 party with me? you can register @ www.halfthebeast.sa.t.an let me know how it goes)...such a treat. alana found an original fuzzy felt card. unreal. and i had 5 strippers, although they were a little molten (not in the right ways).

ohyeah. apparently there is surf in cornwall. dunno. waddya reckon? s'alright i guess.

yeah sorry that you always seem to get stuck on the tub with me. its really not that bad. you get to see all kinds of neat stuff. especially @ old street on friday night yeeehah. always feel like i am heading the wrong way thru there.

with no thought for continuity. a week. clinton j mcclean got older. as did nigel. carlos slater began a new phase in his love affair with richard taylor. and had a birthday. am sure both were happily received. graham reeves had a birthday and 4 dozen nappies to change (his was maternity leave week). my father nigel proved just how mechanical he really is by trading up for his fourth hip replacement. thinking of you dad. geoff and kerryn decided to stay a little longer in the uk - hooray! new zealand had summer. we had spring so i reckon not a bad trade. alana swam some laps @ her swanky gym. i almost hit the tonne for hours worked in a week. alana cooked ALL the dinners. mmmmmmm. nice that we have 2 days off next week in austria (only 2 letters yet worlds apart from the other aus - how does that work). work life balance? for schmucks.

what was your news? go on. tell me. us. them. you. anyone. except for that guy. yeah. that guy. ow.

Snow from the sky. not my dannydruff

it snowed this morning. and then this little guy said hi.

we spend a lot of time at/on the tub. alana stands on one side of the tracks and me on the other (apparently there is something wrong about me...)

Jude (by albie)

This is the story of how jude learnt about life. and death.
(this is by mark albie printed without his permission. i just thought it was a great story. you can see more of the ablitross @ the captain cLink over yonder - http://www.sitckypictures.co.nz)

Jude....

Spending Xmas in Taupo - Kuritau.

We decide to take the kids to see the snow with a 70 year old friend called
Stan.

Stan is Jamaican living in UK - is a great guy and is like a member of the
family now.

So there's me amy jude eva and ollie together with Stan al ready to take the
chair lift to the top.

Chairs swinging in behind each group of 2 people and swinging them away
towards the summit.

Amy and Eva step up to the line and we talk as the chair swings in behind
them to scoop them up agreeing that I should take Jude. Jude is set in his
mind he will go with his dad.

Bang eva and amy fly away - the lift takes off quickly and the ground drops
away to very quickly the mountain at this height is bare and rocks look up
from below.

Next minute the liftie looks at us and suggests we change our plan and I
carry Ollie as he's in a bck pack and a little heavy for our friend stan to
carry together with a bag that Amy had shuffled to him earlier -

We line up as we're thinking and ollie is passed to me. The chair than
swoops behind me swweping me up and on to the irreversable treadmill.

I look back and realise I have made a big mistake Jude begins to scream like
only he can. I want to go with daddy!!!!!. Stans hands are shaking - he has
a crook hip in need of replacing and is holding on to the boogie boards that
we plan to slide down the hill on...they are scooped up jude almost knocked
to the ground but stan manages to get him on the seat - he is kicking and
screaming out of control and stan has only one hand free - Amy and I are
just meters away but several more above the rocks.

Cant put down the safety barrier and amy and I are shouting at Jude to try
and snap him out of it!!

But no he kicks and screams to the very top of the lift as we watch on in
horror...

People pass on the other side of the lift smiling and waving at eva and
Ollie and then jaws dropping as they see Jude.

It was the longes 10 mins in my life .

That was my jude story

Moral - don't take kids on chair lifts till they're past terrible 2s

Explained to jude that he almost died - he is now more settled and seems to
have grown up overnight. Turning points don't just happen in film comission
scripts.
